Most of us OFW’s (including me) have no clue about the benefits that the government is giving. I only knew recently that we are entitled to several benefits as per government’s directives in appreciation for supposedly “modern heroes” like us. I think there is also a re-integration program for OFW returnees but I couldn’t find the details. I will post that topic later. Here’s the list of benefits:
DTI Order Regalo
The Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) is the conduit of the Order Regalo Program where Filipinos abroad and those who have traveled abroad can buy products they can send home to their family or friends in the Philippines from PITC-accredited Order Centers. Visit site

Pag-IBIG Overseas Program
The Pag-IBIG Overseas Program (POP) is a voluntary savings program which aims to provide Filipino overseas contract workers ,immigrants and naturalized citizens the opportunity to save for their future and the chance to avail of a housing loan of as much as P 2,000,000.00. Visit site
The SSS Flexi-Fund Program : A Voluntary Provident Fund for OFWs
The program is a voluntary provident fund that provides a mechanism for the OFW to save more for the future, complementing the benefits under the regular SSS programs. This means the program is open only to OFWs abroad and is added on top of existing SSS-OFW membership benefits. Visit site
GSIS Expanded Bahay Ko Program (EBKP)
Pinapayagan na ngayon ng Government Service Insurance System ang mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) upang magsilbing co-maker para sa programang pabahay sa mga GSIS members. Ibig sabihin nito, maaari pang palakihin ng isang GSIS member ang halaga ng pwede nyang utangin para sa pagpapatayo ng bahay kung mayroon itong kamag-anak na OFW na papayag magsilbing co-maker sa kanyang utang. Visit site
Philhealth’s Overseas Workers Program
overseas workers who eventually return for good can continue their membership as an Individually Paying Member. In addition, unless otherwise covered by special laws, PhilHealth members who reach the age of sixty and have paid at least 120 monthly contributions to PhilHealth are afforded lifetime coverage without paying additional premiums. Visit site
PNB’s Own a Philippine Home Loan Program for OFWs
This loan facility is open to all Filipinos and non-Filipinos residing and working overseas who are interested in purchasing residential real estate (lot, house & lot, condominium, townhouse or rowhouse) in the Philippines. The loan may also be availed of for purposes of constructing a house on a lot owned by the borrower, improvement on an existing house owned by the borrower and refinancing of a Philippine Peso home mortgage loan. Borrowers may avail of only one loan. Visit site
OWWA and Microsoft’s Tulay Project
Microsoft Philippines and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) recently inaugurated the facilities for “Tulay,” an initiative of and that provides IT trainingand access to technology that will enable OFW families to communicate via the Internet. More than three thousand OFWs and their families are targeted to benefit from the project. Visit site
